A self-taught artist and native of Swansboro, North Carolina, Mitchell speaks of his art as a quest- a journey with brushes and paint. He says, "I truly think we never evolve to that final "place" to which we all aspire. I see it as a continuous journey in which we grow, evolve and change over time. Mitchell's keen eye is inspired by the beauty and charm of local coastal areas.
